Marble Paint Terracotta Pots

Before you begin i spray painted my terra cotta pots with a white gloss spray paint with primer built in.

Perfect way to use up any old n. Next randomly add in the gold or whatever color you re using paints on top of the white paint. First add 3 parts white paint with 1 part water into a paint safe bowl that s large enough to fit your terra cotta pot. Do this in no particular pattern.

In paint friendly jars water down your accent colors 1 color per jar. I sealed my marbled pot with one coat each of mod podge outdoor and mod podge gloss. In my opinion they do not have to be perfect because the marble design will cover any imperfections. They look like marble and are a perfect pot for lavender or any colorful flowers.

Use folkart acrylic lacquers matte satin or gloss finishes or with folkart artists varnish satin or gloss. Don t want to paint on top of dirty pots. Pour paint into a disposable bin make sure the bin is wide enough to accommodate your pot. If you are using pastel colored nail polish you could probably leave your pot terracotta colored.

The terracotta pots do soak up a lot of spray paint so be prepared for this. These marbleized pots are so beautiful i m using them at an outdoor wedding i m doing next week. Start off by making sure that your terracotta pots are clean. I did this the day before and let them dry overnight.

I painted my pots with a white enamel spray paint so that the nail polish colors would pop. You can invert your pot over a tin can to keep it off of the ground while painting. This marbled paint technique is only one type of paint pour.

Once watered down use your paint brush to splash drops of the paint colors atop the white paint. With white spray paint give your pot a nice clean coat of paint. Make sure you get all of the exterior covered and at most the interior edge so you can t notice the terracotta orange on the inside.
